New “blog” version of the Pill page

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

Yes, I finally bit the bullet and officially changed to a blog style page for the podcast. Hopefully it will make things a LOT easier for me in the long run. We’ll see. I’m still tweeking the Blogger template, so hang in there. I think it looks a bit lame, but I love the pill graphic…

Also, I’m hoping listeners will feel free to post comments, criticisms, critiques, etc. here, and we can get a little dialogue going on politics, child rearing, music, how awesome the show is, etc.

Thanks again and again for listening. Tell a friend. Hell, tell an enemy, I don’t care…

#8: I’m a Little Girl

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

After a rather tame Thanksgiving, I vow to make the show more “kid friendly,” before admitting that I am a little girl who cries during movie trailers. I complain about the Costco feeding frenzies, and hypocritically proclaim my distaste for incestuous podcasts.

#7: Disney Death and Thanksgiving Drinks

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2004

I want to strangle the people who decide which movie trailers to show before the kid flicks, AND the person who turns the volume up to 11. Be warned: that Disney DVD you bought for the little ones is full of death and dispair. And, so is Thanksgiving. Enjoy.

#6: Political Devils, Sleeping Angels

Thursday, November 18th, 2004

While my little angel sleeps, I claim that I will start rambling less and do tighter shows, and then continue to ramble for 25 minutes. BUT, I do end up talking about Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Alberto “Torture” Gonzalez, my slippery faith, “The Assasination of Richard Nixon,” Bebe Neuwirth, and the day my daughter disappeared with my soul.

Played Louis XIV

#5: Mad Man, Happy Man

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

I fit this one in while the kids are watching Shrek 2. Yes, it’s day 3 of my son being home from school because of teacher conferences and I’m getting a little nuts. You’ve got to check out fuckthesouth.com, and if you want that great Bush letter with all the religious quotes, e-mail me and it’ll be sent automatically. I got e-mail from Peter Riley from Saintface, so I HAD to play their latest single. I also talked about living in England, meeting Meg Ryan, and the upcoming copyright strangle. No more fastforwarding through the commercials? Okay, I just won’t watch TV…

Played Saintface and Alva Star

#4: Gay Marriage, Jesus and George Clooney

Thursday, November 11th, 2004

Special guest Lance Anderson sits in to talk about gay marriage, Jesus, and George Clooney. PLEASE NOTE: Due to some sort of technical mishap, the second half of the show sounds terrible. I was trying a different recording method and something went horribly wrong. Even though I think it sounds bad, I didn’t want to cut Lance’s story, so here is the show, uncut. Enjoy.
