#27: Four Inches Is Now Officially Twelve

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

I am the “sweety” of the woman at Banana Republic with the Austrailian accent, so I tell a quick and embarrassing story about me picking up hairdressers using an Australian accent. Sad, sad, sad…

I ban my first listener from the show, play a voice mail from Mr. X, and don’t play them from Steve Holden and Kinrowan.

And in keeping with the theme of talking about women, clothes, clothing stores and how big things are, I discuss “The Right Hand Ring” and “Vanity Sizing.” What size do you suppose Vanity is?

MORE FEEDBACK FROM THE LADIES!

I play “Shonan Shore” by Motohiko Takeda

#26: A Bowl with a Hole in the Middle

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005

I start this edition by talking about our first sponsor, The BlueCat Screenplay Competition and the movie “Love Liza.”

I almost killed my iPod and it is killing me. We get a little more “Japanese from Hiro!” and then I update the Adam Ant story.

My wife and I are planning on remodeling our circa 1948 kitchen, and I’m already tired of the whole thing…

I play “Here We Are” by ATP from Tokyo, Japan.

# 25: I’m a Dandy Highwayman

Thursday, February 17th, 2005

I went to the dentist this week, and luckily my eyes have finally stopped tearing. Maybe I should go more often than twice a decade. We have the first installment of our new feature, JAPANESE with HIROSAN!

Finally, I tell the tale of seeing a “punk in the supermarket:” my Adam Ant sighting.

I play “The Strangest Game” by Barry O’Brien.

#24 Redux

Tuesday, February 15th, 2005

I played a song at the end of #24 that I later found out is distrubuted by an RIAA member label. So, since paranoia prevails, I recut the show, with a song that I have permission to play replacing the other song.

(Check out RIAARadar.com, but don’t swear by it)

Special thanks to Go Pop! Records of Beverly Hills, CA for letting me play Pop Machine’s “Skateboard Freak,” the opening song from the 1993 Roger Corman production, The Skateboard Kid. Enjoy!

#24: Hudson THIS and Hudson THAT…(redux)

Friday, February 11th, 2005

I talk about the O.C. Podcasters Meet-up. Wow, what a great gathering. I’ve GOT to get Maynard on the show…we recap the problems with people without strollers and elevators, and then it’s all about Hudson. Hudson this, and Hudson that. Apparently, he already has his own fan club. Yeesh. I’ve created a monster…literally.

I play “Skateboard Freak” by PopMachine (Go Pop! Records, Beverly Hills).

Thank you to all my callers who love Hudson so much, especially Rachel from Rachel’s Choice.
