#34: Up Chub Creek Without a Paddle

Monday, March 28th, 2005

As I write this I am in my fifth hour of working on and off on this podcast, after thinking I’d lost it. Yeesh.

I discuss briefly my distain for the Disney “Vault.”

I play the new Bitterest Pill theme song by the guys from Chub Creek, and some new promo/things from Thrasher UK. Awesome work, gents.

Sorry about the abrupt ending. I just can’t take it anymore…

The Hudson Show!

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

To most of you today is St. Patrick’s Day, but to us it’s Hudson’s birthday. We celebrate by launching THE HUDSON SHOW. Hudson talks about his first birthday gift of the year, the zoologic office he wants to build in the back yard and bowling.

Thanks to Craig Patchett, Tuc & Cheryl Treehause, and Trent and the folks at Zaldor.com!

#32: Minivan Stick Figures Must GO!

Wednesday, March 16th, 2005

Today I take to task all the parents who have those wonderful stick figure families on the back windshields of their minivans. (note: If you don’t know what “MILF” means, don’t Google it. Just ask a single guy with an internet connection…If you don’t know what a “CBGB’s” t-shirt is…)

Job Openings: Proof Readers needed in Austria. No experience necessary.

Lance Anderson is already three podcasts in. Check out Acts 1 & 2 of “I Didn’t Even Kiss Her” at The Verge of the Fringe.

Just Pete from “Illinoise” sent us an AWESOME theme song for The Bitterest Pill. Just awesome. Needless to say, you’ll probably be hearing a LOT of it…

#31: The Practice of Medicine

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

My technical mess-ups are the reason Lance Anderson sounded strung out on the last podcast. Sorry, Lance. But, he’ll be podcasting any second…

Last night was my second trip to the Orange County Podcaster’s Meet-Up. Great to get out of the house, AND meet and hang out with fellow mic addicts. Met listener and fellow no-carb man, David Jacobs from 3 Ring Podcast, which leads me to talk of my hypoglycemia and my Glucose Tolerance Test. Yeesh. Luckily, the king of “Carb Smart” was also at the meet-up. Seriously…

Check out Craig Patchett’s “Behind The Scenes” for audio interviews with everyone who was there, including Maynard, the most famous Disneyland “cast member.”

I don’t want to go on “play dates.” Does that make me a bad person?

My daughter hurt her arm last Friday, and ended up having it put in a cast. Within four hours we were having it cut off. Yes, you should always get a second opinion, especially if that opinion is that of your pediatrician…

ps: At around 8pm PST I uploaded a newly compressed version of this podcast. I wasn’t happy with the sound of the first pass, so I encoded using a superior encoder and the sound quality is MUCH better. If you are unhappy with low-rez digital noise of the version you downloaded, please check out this newer, cleaner version. Sorry for any inconvenience. Just trying to make the show the best it can be in the limited time I have to do so…

Thank you to everyone who has voted for the show. We’ve been hovering around the #10 spot on Podcast Alley, and are, as of this writing, #2 on PodTower. THANK YOU ALL.

NOTE: When I compare my podcasting set-up to others, and say “You should see what these guys have,” I am speaking (with great envy) about the set-ups that cost several thousand dollars, compared to my very modest set-up. Lance thinks mine looks professional because I now use a mixer, and used to use a Radio Shack karaoke thing to connect the mic to the computer…
