#58: Around The Bend

Monday, November 21st, 2005

Thank you, Business Week, for making us a
“Podcast Pick.”

Catching up, we discuss the Podcast Expo, driving in the pitch black darkness and Melissa shopping at Verve.

Thank you, Evo! Great plug in the book, sorry about the signing…

Recording this time from the mobile studio here in Wappinger’s Falls, New York, using my new Samson C01U USB Studio Mic.

Drop me a line if you can help with a WordPress install (or two).

Music was Come Alive by LEMON. Awesome.

The Bitterness Will Not Be Televised is from the upcoming CD, The Bitterest Pill Vol. One

#57: “Live” from the Expo floor

Monday, November 14th, 2005

A unique “Pill” where I just blab and gush from the floor of the Portable Media and Podcast Expo (recorded Friday, Nov. 11).

My special guests include (I think this is in order) Lance Anderson (Verge of the Fringe), Cush (Things I Say), Tim Coyne (The Hollywood Podcast), (The Radio Adventures of) Dr. Floyd and Dr. Grant, Michael Geoghegan (Reel Reviews Radio), Adam Christianson (MacCast), Eric Rice (Audioblog.com), Eric Schwartzman (On the Record Online), Paul Figgiani (The.Point), Seth Anderson (Hear Me Now, Brother) and Edgar (Nerdblurp.com), Keith Malley and Chemda (Keith & The Girl)

The episode sponsored in part by Marantz, and recorded on their CDR420. Thanks, Marantz!

Back from the Expo

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

Wow. I’m back from the Expo. Exhausted and energized at the same time. What a ride. Some many great people to meet and talk with, vendors everywhere…I’d love to list everyone I met but it would be impossible. Too many to name, frankly. It was like being at a giant high school reunion, except without the anxiety of the cheerleaders finding out you’re bald…

The Expo was a HUGE success. Kudos to Tim Bourquin for pulling off such a class event. Really just fantastic.

We recorded podcasts at the booth (as part of the LA Podcasters Freeway Series) for two days straight. I’ll post links to any and all as soon as they start to surface.

#56: Dan & Mattew Talk Rubbish

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

I got a call from 14 year-old college student Mattew of England. We talk a bit of nonsense.

*There was a glitch in the feed when this show was first uploaded. You may need to recheck the feed, or you may end up downloading the show twice, I don’t know. Sorry.

I’m still not quite back to normal, but had to check in before the big Expo. If you’re at the Expo, look for me and say hello:

FRIDAY:

O’ Possum, Where Art Thou?

Monday, November 7th, 2005

My voice is gone. Gone. I get whatever-this-is every year or two. Just need to keep quiet and wait it out. I’d better be back to normal by Friday’s live show…

The Latest: The show is featured on Yahoo! Podcast page, in their “Staff Picks” section. Thanks, Yahoo! Little do they know I check my.Yahoo every morning for the forcast when I’m getting Hudson’s clothes out for school. Thanks to PodcastRant.com for letting me know…

Also, I need to thank the geniuses at iPodderX. Not only to they make what is easily the best “podcatcher,” but they also dig the show, and include it on their “Top Picks!” Thanks to Ray & August!

I’ve been seeing a lot of George (The Junkyard Opossum) lately. He seems to like to hang out on a wall in our backyard near the BBQ. Needless to say, my wife refuses to go out there at night, and H insists that I take a camera with me every time I take out the trash.

Tallu is addicted to Wallace & Gromit.

Thanks to Cush for the title of this post.
