#76: Brown Leather Chucks

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

As usual, I’m in a bitter mood, after being shunned by the host of a birthday party I didn’t really want to go to in the first place. Also, I’m a little thrown: isn’t three years-old a little young to be attracting the guys? Seriously?

You are my friends and neighbors. Thank you for this outlet.

Brown Chuck Taylors, the official shoe of The Bitterest Pill. Buy them at Zappos, I guess. I got mine in Santa Monica, but I can’t remember the name of the place that carries them…

The Other Podcast: Scott Sigler

Scott Sigler and Dan Klass: seperated at birth?

I admit it, I am no master interviewer. However, sci-fi writer/podcast star Scott Sigler is a facinating guy and a true pioneer in the world of “podiobooks.” I loved finally talking to Scott, since I am a huge fan of his Earthcore and his current podcast novel, Infection.

It’s a fascinating look into the mind of the hardest working man in gore.

Lou Diamond Philips as Connel Kirkland? I guess you never know…

We talk about the books and podcasts, being the “steel toed boot” of authors, Ancestor coming out in print in 2007, the future of Sigler works on the screen including his upcoming feature-length podcast movie, and 7th Son. And, of course, we talk smack about Evo Terra.

#75: Return of The Wife

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

Melissa and I celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary by…recording a show. We talk about living in the Matrix, the “brand experience” of 21st Century life, hot bean water, PLS & THKS, “mouse pride” and working upstairs at Crate & Barrel, being Catholic by proxie, being married to an eighty year-old man, getting fecal faced with co-workers, the 50 year-old alien women, Jennifer Grey’s nose…

This is how we recommit to each other.

#74: No!

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

My hayfever has been kicking my tail and I’m sick of it. Sick of the sneezing, sick of the nose blowing, sick of the sneezing some more.

This time we discuss going to Open House with our gaze locked, Melissa working from home, The Hudson Original, the Dan Klass dot com blog, ID3 Podcast Magazine, and guys in matching polos and hats.

JUST SAY NO, PEOPLE!

Action Dads will hunt you down. Or, at least think about it on the way to therapy.

Stuck in Translation…

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

The latest episode is stuck in my recorder. Seems my compact flash card suddenly hates my computer. I’ll try another tactic and get a show out in the next couple of days.

IN THE NEWS: I am about to launch my “Dan Klass” blog, which is where I’ll post all my serious whatever about podcasting, the book, etc. Check it out for now here. Includes the latest on ID3 Podcast Magazine and a link to the piece I wrote for the premiere issue, entitled The First Freshman Class
