I tell the tale of shooting the CSI promo. Wow, either I am a weakling, or carrying a 165 lb. man around for two days is hard work. Either way, I survived (barely) and have recuperated (barely) enough to do a podcast.
Fox News is coming by in the morning and it’s 11pm and I’m doing a show. Yikes. I’m not really sure podcasters should be seen. They should be heard, but…Looking forward to my Rupert Pupkin moment…
Not sure I should do the show when I’m so tired…
Thanks to Chub Creek and Thrasher UK for the tunes!

“clearly that is not going to happen.” [pause.]
fox news is yucky.
My GOD! I only uploaded the show ten seconds ago and someone is already quoting it?!?!? Holy moly!
(Now all I have to do is remember what I was talking about when I said what they said I said)
paraphrasing, what you said was “i have no idea when the music is going to end, & usually i like there to be a pause when the music stops before i start talking, & CLEARLY, THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.” then the music stopped, then there was a pause.
see dan, you’re so funny, i guess i’m giving you too much credit for thinking you are making very subtle jokes when, in fact, you are not.
from now on, i’ll just know that you are a knucklehead. 🙂
& ps. i didn’t mean for that comment to be anonymous, it just was, so there.
Your podcast rssfile is goofed. The newest show has its enclosure pointing to BP2005_04_19.mp3 which is the #38: CSI: Private School. And now #38 is not listed. So basicly the newest show over-write part of the previous, but not all.

I think it’s fixed. Let me know if you continue to have problems…

Dan, Dan, Dan… Someday, when you’re up on stage accepting that Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, you’ll look back on the day you recorded this podcast and forgot how to count.
[flashback]
Let’s see… I’m #5 on Podcast Alley. I’ll mention Dawn and Drew since they are always up there, that makes one. And then I’ve gotta talk about the Fr. Roderick ‘cuz he’s been on fire this month, and that makes two folks ahead of me. Then I need to take a shot at Keith and the Girl, because it makes no sense on how they’ve hit the big leages without some funny stuff going on… so that makes three.
So 1, 2, 3… 5. Yeah. That’s it. There’s nothing else to talk about. Just mention the three (gosh that sounds funny) podcasts ahead of me by name, and then go on with the show.
[/flashback]
May I suggest taking up a sticky-note with all the folks you want to thank on that enevitable future day when you stand in front of your peers and the world accepting the Oscar? Because, and mark my words, you will forget someone. Not an entire group of people mind you, but just a single someone.
And when that happens, that person and I will softly shed a tear together in our own private misery.

Babe…
First, letting you know that I have joined the iPod revolution, so I had the thrill of listening to various episodes of TBP as I walked to and from the auto shop today.
However, I must concur on the messy RSS feed – I got episode 32 when I updated. I suppose I could just download the latest one manually, but I’m a lazy plugged-in American who expects technology to do everything for me…
Hrmm..now my podcast fetcher throws the following error when trying to get this latest show:
4/26/2005 10:33:14 PM EX: DownloadThread: http://www.danklass.com/pill/BP2005_04_15.mp3 The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
Seems like it needs to be called 4_25 and not 4_15…
but what do I know..
Bill
all better now..thanks.
Bill
Great story…. BTW Chris won’t return my emails either. I guess we’re not high enough on the Podcasting food chain.
Chris must be on a trip, because he’s not responding to my emails either and he usually does.
And as for the Best Supporting Actor award, to they give those for supporting a corpse?!
Oh, great show BTW!
This is really shocking…
A podcast that I didn’t turn off after 5 minutes!
Just stumbled upon your show and it’s uh, well, pretty damn good.
Keep up the good work and I’m glad that someone out there is giving podcasting a good name.
Which Chris did not return your phone calls? You bad mouthed Keith and the girl with no remorse, I thought podcast alley fixed all the loop holes, so everything should be on the up and up. But because you need something from “Chris”, you pause before outing him. If there is no truth to the voting fraud, there should be no reason to bring it up.
Maybe you should have asked if you could have carried Poppy assistants naked body for CSI. You might have been able enjoy it (in a wierd kind of way)
Can assume since it was at night time shot, it was CSI: Las Vegas? Vegas at night, Miami in the day, NY in the shade of blue.
Oh yea FOX Sux
“HITTING THE DALMATION” Odd comments for a fmily show.
Dan! You worked with Rocky Morton? Director of Max Flipping Headroom? One of my all-time favorites. I won’t bring up the Super Mario Brothers movie tho…
Hey Dan. Great, great episode. That was the best one I’ve heard yet. I’d love to hear more about this sort of insider stuff. Anybody who cares, Dan did a great little bit of “acting” for us at Chub Creek and we really appreciated it. It’s at the tail end of #11. Thanks, Klass. Oh, and Dan, I’ve been meaning to tell you, the theme I made for you was meant as an “intro”, not an “outtro.” Why don’t you try it as an intro? It always gets my attention when it (the intro file) plays on my iPod. Just a thought. I’m not looking for plugs, I just really think it would work well for that.
Great show. Thanks for sharing and making me laugh … Steve
Hi Dan,
First time listener, I took you with me to the gym and laughed, alone on the treadmill, like a fruit loop. I really enjoyed your show, I’m sure you now count me a regular.
Kisses,

OK, so I just got back from Hawaii, and on the interminable plane ride they had a tv-channel that played CSI episodes, *IN THE MIDDLE OF WHICH* they played your promo! I laughed right out loud and barely resisted the urge to stand in the aisle and announce that “the guy on channel 7 is so freakin’ funny!”
You really make jet-lag worth it.

Hey Dan,
I live in Amherst, NY which was recently hit by some freakish weather. I think it might have been on the news, but I’m not sure as my power was out for a week. Anywho, to pass the time I listed to all of your shows that I have stored on my laptop, and this CSI: episode is one of my favorites.
I’ve been listening to your show since April of 2005. It’s great; it’s funny; it’s witty; and it inspired my to start my own podcast, which will hopefully be coming out soon.
The episode about the Matterhorn and the latest one about Hudson riding his bike are two stories that I really enjoyed because they certainly taught me one lesson or another.
Well, I won’t keep you much longer. Thanks for listening and, more so, thanks for recording.
A dedicated listener,
Billy W.
PS. I found a copy of your CSI promo. I remembered seeing it when it was on TV, so it was easy to recognize on YouTube. Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48xW3J_e5vg
Dan Klass give me more details about book and maybe I’ll buy it.
Thanks
Ken
