#95: Dawn of Friendly’s

One night I almost got into a fight in the parking lot of Friendly’s with Cousin Ronny.

Check out the upcoming issue of Podcast User Magazine to see yours truly on the cover! Yes, I am a coverboy and the folks at PUM are nuts…

Look for me on the latest episode (released tonight?) of Brian Hogg’s incredibly warped dotBoom. I play “Dan,” Jason’s father. And, yes, he is a puppet. Some kind of dog-like thing, I guess. You’ll see. Fun stuff, for adults only.

The winners of the New World Son/Joel Parisien CDs are:
Angela T.
Scott W.
Ann-Marie M.
Scot K.

I’ll be sending e-mail to each of the winners soon, with more info. CONGRATS!

  1. YOU B@ST@RD!!!

you talking about Friendlys and Eastview mall, I used to go to that one (the new location near Sears) sometimes during my lunch when I was working in Bushnell Basin, got me missing it again. I used to go to the old location of Friendly’s at Eastview back when it was a lot smaller mall than it is now, and before Marketplace opened in Henrietta (and we had to go to the Greece malls – when they were still seperate and not the one large one they are now- OR to Eastview)

Now since moving to Phoenix, been missing the Garbage plates, white hots, fish fry, and Friendly’s. We can’t find any palce like Friendly’s here yet. Of course nothing would beat having an Abbot’s frozen custard! We got a restaraunt chain in Phoenix called Native New Yorker which has fairly good BUFFALO wings and Fish Fry on Fridays!

  2. Dan,

Friendly’s is always full of 17 and 18 year olds. Both working there and eating there. That’s what it’s there for.

Friendly’s Fribble: best milkshake in the world.

  3. Hi Dan. (No need to approve this message to show on your site… tried sending you an email to pill@danklass.com but kept bouncing back.)

Many thanks on a great podcast… just started listening to your show a couple of months ago… **loved** the “fight at friendly’s” show which I just listened to.

Just to let you know that I’ve recommended your podcast at my blog at
    http://www.podcastjunky.co.uk
and recently featured a clip from one of your podcasts in my own podcast at
    http://www.podcastnumber1.com

Keep up the great show… I love ’em.

    Kind regards

    Alex

P.S. Please no need to approve this message to show up on your blog as I don’t want it to see that I’m pimping my own stuff.

  4. Dan, I got the same bounce-back on the email…here is what I was trying to send you….

    Dan,

A friend of mine has seen this movie. I think you should sue because, clearly,
Ricky Gervaise has stolen parts of your life for his profit. The least he
could have done is allow you to play yourself in the movie!

Honestly, I don’t really know how close the movie is, but the description
from the link below seems close in many ways to what “The Bitterest Pill”
    was at the start.

As the Ninja would say, “I look forward to hearing your rant…SOON!”
