i read A Man Without A Country yesterday. “the closest thing to a memoire” he writes about wanting to sue the Bown & Williamson Tobacco company for promising to kill him, but they hadn’t killed him yet. i know that he did not die a smoking-related death, but it’s quite ironic that he died two years after he wrote that. he also referred to what he wanted to be written on his tombstone, and i wonder if it was written.
