#109: The Dan Klass LifeStyle

Dan Klass Lifestyle

It’s not a diet, it’s a way of life!

So far, the first steps of the Dan Klass Weight Control Lifestyle:
1) Stomach and Mind Training: Don’t Eat Until You Feel Sick
2) Drink Tea. It’s made of leaves, not chemicals.

So, why don’t you know what I do? And if your restaurant is called “Crazy Chicken,” why won’t you sell me chicken? Sell me all the breasts I want, right now!

Keep a quarter handy if you’re in Poughkeepsie, as long as you’re old enough to be at the mall. Is age discrimination legal? If so, nobody who is 56 is allowed to listen to this show.
This is officially a “Mommy ‘Cast.” Hey, mommies, the Bronx Zoo is free on Wednesdays.
Want to feel better? Cut all the leaves off a tree, and most of the branches! It’s fun for the whole family!

  1. The US was actually Croatia’s ally…come on Dan, wasn’t that long ago and it got more media coverage than Afghanistan.
When I lived in London, you could unlock the wheel lock on the shopping carts so you could push it all the way home! The cost: about 2 pounds, i.e $4. I never did this because I cabbed it home from the shops but I think you got half the money back when/if you returned it.
Also, your encounter with the chicken crazy manager is so typical of management, making their crew deliver bad news and take the brunt of it, but as soon as a customer asks him for something he folds like a pool chair!

  2. I’ve been listening for almost two years, I think, and I know that being a bit of a misanthrope is a major part of what your podcast is about, but …

    1. Why does it upset you so to have women scowl at you when you stare or leer at their beautiful, made-up bodies? Sure it’s unfair. They go out of their way to dress provocatively, but resent it when you look at them provocatively. But remember, women get very mixed messages about their appearance, and I think that some are truly unaware of the difference between looking nice and looking slutty. Blame their upbringing, blame MTV, blame our sexualized culture, but don’t seriously blame them unless you know their purposefully teasing.

    2. Your reaction to the “Bellvue” patients visiting the Zoo was understandable, Most people notice large groups of visibly disabled people when they’re being trundled around on “outings”. I have a disability myself, and hate it when “we” are hearded around for our amusement. But I hope you’re more aware than you seem to be that this isn’t done to irritate you or make you uncomfortable. Then again, some of “my people” have been known to stare back when we’re stared at … maybe that’s why they all seemed to “make eye contact” with you.

I do love your podcast, and I’m not trying to change you or suggest you self-censor. I’m just saying …

  3. Yeah – sorry those sorts of mall things are legal. The mall is not a government. Private actors can do those sorts of things. Neither is shopping a fundamental right.

  4. Points 1 & 2 are excellent.
Make your own tea, pre-made usually has sweeteners (HFCS).

Way to go to beat the system!
    I am impressed.
One of my fondest memories from my bachelor days at MicroProse was lunch at Roy Rogers. Walk-in was busy, so my roommate had the bright idea of all four of us parking the car and going through the drive-through on-foot *in formation*. Then we took our food inside to use the ‘fixins bar’. Priceless silliness. We got some odd looks for that.

Neither you nor I are mommies, despite our roles. We need to do something on daddycasts, we are not alone. I’ll see what I can do to achieve that.

Even with the $200 price cut, we do not have enough money lying around to buy you an iPhone. Soz.

Stay out of ‘the zone’, Dan.
    210 calories per bar?!
A regular granola bar is 100 calories.
And a zone bar has HFCS in it as well?
We don’t metabolise HFCS it goes straight to fat.
    Avoid it like the plague.

    Looking forward to ARFF.

  5. Hey Dan, I been doing this training for a couple years now, its all about portion control…. for instance most people don’t know it but when you have your bowl of cereal in the morning the serving size is 1 cup of serial and 1/2 cup of milk or something of that nature… not a whole bowl of cereal or whatever amount of milk takes to make the cereal not dry….

The common mistake people make is not eating to according to what the package says…and that is why we are so damn fat, it comes from up bringing we were always taught at least my generation to eat what is put on your plate…the hard part is to get out of that mind set

  6. Yeah! I’m starting the lifestyle today, I haven’t eaten a thing all day! The fact that I have a fever of 102 degrees farenheit helps a LITTLE bit…
