#229: The One about Bread and Shades and Dogs…

This time I talk about my recent auditions for Jamba Juice and HBO.  I will probably get the HBO job, as it shoots next week, when my wife is out of town…

Lowes Stores is having to recall about 11 million sets of shades and blinds.  Hopefully there is something about this that I’m just not quite clear on, but I don’t think they should have to recall 11 million items because two kids got injured.  They should simply recall two sets of parents.  And the parents from the Staples Center.

I also talk about bread.

And, the dog.  And the cat.  And how the dog wants to bite the cat, but just a little.  And how the cat wants to smack the crap out of the dog.  A lot.

A bit of info about The Lowes Recall and the Death of a Toddler at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.

  1. We have a Facebook and Twitter Free home. My friends have talked and badgered me to the point that I refuse to get on. Facebook seems to have flipped, no JAMMED, the Narcissist button on everyone. You are right Dan – live your life and plug into it not the darn Facebook, etc.! Does anyone really need an update to let them know I am vacuuming right now? No. If you do need to know – call me.

  2. Too right RZ. I have been on both Twitter and Facebook and left both, never to return. It is like a drug to most people. As you say, how much real living could people do if they were not recording the fact that they are not really doing anything? Or Worse still, people only doing activities in order to provide a Facebook update. We have recently set up a Scout pack and I tell you, most parents who attend any activities are more concerned with taking photos to “update my Facebook page” than actually watching or helping their kids.

The sooner we get over this as a society the better, or we are screwed. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a form of Government sponsored mind control, to dumb us all down.

Couldn’t believe that bread story either – I mean, how low and completely devoid of any self awareness do you have to be as a person to take bread out of a homeless persons mouth?

  3. Went to the dentist today to have some work done. (My face feels paralyzed now.) Thanks for going along and keeping me company – I listened to this and Strategic Default again. Made the procedure tolerable.
