#263: A Short Crappy One about Theater…

Not much to say this week.  I do spend some time discussing Steve Jobs and the effect (and affect) the Apple has had on my life.

If we ever had to move to New York, I don’t think I could get any acting work, because I don’t have a background in “Tha The-a-ta.”

Our little dog Hugo celebrates his one year anniversary of living here with us.  Thanks, Hugo, for complicating my life just that much more…

  1. What am I doing while you are talking – grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc. Today while you were talking about Hugo, no lie, washing and grooming the d$#% dog. I love him but no more after him. What a hassle – even though he has a sweet face.

Just saw this on Yahoo News:

Wow – does that mean you will be going for an official 10% state sales tax? I thought you people were broke. JK Hey, maybe they could actually filter that to the schools so your students could actually go there and not have to go to private school for a decent education. Just saying . . .

  2. I only got into Apple products in the past 5 years, but am a complete convert. When I think of the life I have wasted on the shitty Microsoft software and boring incompatible computers and devices before this…

Steve Jobs was a genius no doubt (look at Pixar too…), who had the balls to compete not on price at all but on quality and design. He also had a fantastic motivated team with him and I’d particularly mention the oft-forgotten Jonathan Ive who is the creative genius behind the ipod, Iphone, iMac,Macbook, Macbook Pro and iPad. Obviously he is British too!!

My wife will tell you I am a professional time waster of Olympian proportions and I can tell you without a doubt that the iPad is the greatest ever device I have ever had that facilitates this lifestyle. Amazed you have not got one. I tell you, I would spend all day on this if I could, and practically have all my leisure interractions of a technological nature on it, from the hours of pleasure of the StumbledUpon app, Flipboard, streaming almost all my TV or media (yes, Netflix streams on an iPad stateside…), email, art, gaming. Everything, at incredibly low prices for the software, often free due to the endless promotions.

Dan, get yourself down to the Apple Store and tell the assistant on the door you want a white iPad while handing him your credit card and you will thank me forever. No need for a large GB one now thanks to iCloud and streaming.

I do agree about the Apple Stores – same here, but if you think about it, they had to do something about the hordes of students in there all day checking emails, surfing the web etc, while people who actually wanted help and who may buy stuff could not get near the place.

Finally, nice British accent. But you do know don’t you that 99% of British people don’t speak like that. In fact, thinking about it, this is just the kid of accent we used to hear in those old Disney movies from the 60’s, Mary Poppins etc.

    Love the show Dan!
