PROJECT: Save Dan From Himself

I am disorganized.  I admit it.  I don’t set myself up for success in the ways of keeping it all straight and together.  I am a piler and a procrastinator.  My “filing” system at the moment consists of stacks and stacks of papers that I will “get to someday.”

I am this way about The Bitterest Pill too.  When the show first started back in 2004, I would carefully back-up each show on a disc, label the disc and stow it away.  This went on for a while, maybe even a year.  That was six years ago.  As I quickly approach my 300th episode of the podcast, I realize that I have not taken good care of the shows.

I am now trying to rectify the situation.

I am in the process of making sure I can get my hands on all 294 shows (as of this writing). I don’t have any illusions (delusions?) that I will find what we used to tall “CD quality” versions of each show, but I am determined to find and ferret away every show.

I will most likely need your help.

Obviously, I have all the episodes from PILLBOX and PILLBOX TOO.  And, I have episodes #1 though #88 (except, for some reason, #44)  Also, the most recent 55 shows are still on the server.  BUT, that leaves, well, a LOT of shows floating around on various external drives scattered around my house.  My fear is that some shows will be lost.

As you know better than anyone, I tend to be rather cavalier about The Bitterest Pill.  But, another, more adult part of me understands that it may very well be (not to make too much of it) my life’s work.

Gulp.

So, if you are someone who has been listening for a long time and for whatever reason have saved a bunch of shows, I may need your help in filling in the gaps.  As I feel the swirl of approaching milestone episodes and milestone birthdays, I feel I need to get my pills in order.  I will need your help, I assure you.

  6. I’m sorry I can’t really help you out with the podcast situation, but I wish you luck in finding it.

I’m have a bunch of things backed up on numerous servers and navigating all of them to find a snipped of information is torture. I would feel like Frodo making his way to Mt. Doom just to drop the ring.
