#206: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

bitterest_imageI’ve been buried with two video projects leading up to our annual trip to Hawaii.  Lots of work, lots of shooting, lots of editing. Not lots of sleep…

I continue to find myself in situations that I should not.  For instance, I (often) find it very hard to do something I know I’m not allowed to do.  Also, for some reason I find it difficult to teach my son to lie to the police.  (Don’t worry, I didn’t and he didn’t and won’t, I promise)

This episode is about the weeks leading up to the video being finished, and the moments before we left for the airport.  Yes, I know we essentially live at the airport, but we have to at least lock up and get a lift to the assigned terminal.

Sometimes that sound is to keep you quiet, sometimes it is to wake you up.

  1. Great to have you back Dan – that water situation sounded terrible.

By the way, those “New Zealanders” you mentioned may have been Maori’s. By all accounts they sailed originally from the Hawaiian Islands across the Pacific before they found NZ. The modern Maori music originated from the 50’s mostly and is very similar to Hawaiian music.

  2. I was too tired to see the signs they had up. I copied down their URL wrong, so couldn’t find out more about them. If I wasn’t so against going to morning assembly, I could just ask someone at the school, I suppose…

  3. Nice piece Dan – Too many rules to shoot anywhere in LA for the “nonstudio” guys just trying to do a project. I’ve done some work myself (Auto reviews) at Will Rogers state beach down the road from Santa Monica.

  4. Nice piece Dan. It’s tough to shoot anywhere in LA for “non-studio” guys just trying to get some footage for a project. I’ve done some work myself at the Will Rogers State Park D.T.R. from Santa Monica. Fun times.

“here’s a 72 dpi web image, can we blow this up to fill the window at jack’s in downtown huntington beach?”

hahaha! i’ve also had to go through the video thing with 15 different source formats and ugh, it’s just always a mess.
