#274: Pulp Yoga

I almost bought Pulp Fiction on Blu-ray.  Twice.  Once when I had no money  with me.  Never quite worked that out.

I have been trying to watch Vimeo on my TV.  Turns out there are several yoga videos on Vimeo, several of which are “naked yoga.”  What?  You know what, there is such a thing as “too much naked.” (The video of the amazing yoga girl is at Vimeo.  She is clothed.)

Hugo and I have a new hobby: tormenting possums at 11:15pm. It’s like having a hunting dog, chasing jacalopes across the plains.  Turns out, I can no longer throw…

  1. She is clothed? LOL Of course she is. I don’t know why people taint Yoga workouts as it’s something bad now a days. Yoga teachers wear regular workout clothes. The workout is tormenting though. Yoga is people who have no bones at all.

  2. Dan and Hugo – THE POSSUM HUNTERS
I smells a new reality series. I mean if Hillbilly Handfishin’ can be a show why not this?!

I was laughing so hard Dan – at a time I really needed it. You might count yourself as a failure – but I definately think of you as my savior from boredom. We are off to the grocery store – me & The Bitterest Pill!

  3. I think they just want to show what part of the body will help improve when you do yoga. Yoga is good not only physically but mentally. I always attend my yoga class and it relax me. It keeps me away from stress and I feel young all the time. I want to look younger that’s why I will do everything. I’m reading a lot right now on how to stay young. Here’s a sample article I found – http://www.mercola.com/Downloads/bonus/choosing-anti-oxidant-supplement/default.aspx

  4. Hey Dan, why didn’t you talk to me before the blu-ray, streaming saga?! I’ve had tons of issues myself and so I think have lots of answers that may help!

    1. In my humble opinion, the Playstation 3 offers the best all round performer for blu ray and all your other needs. It’s a top quality blu ray player, is upgradable, upscales DVD beautifully, streams Netflix at 1080P, can play vimeo, can run a media server so you can use something like PS3 Media player on your Mac to stream movies to the PS3. And crucially it is wi-fi enabled without any dongle for wifi. Would be better if it was Wireless N enabled, but it is still pretty good. I mean, what do you want it to do more, make popcorn for you?! Oh and it also plays games in hi-def, but I don’t use for that.

    2. Another great option is the Apple TV 2. It is tiny, but streams beautifully at 720P, has Netflix and Vimeo wired in, has Youtube and you can rent movies and stream music and video via airplay. All for about $99. I mean, how good is that!

    3. After a ton of wi-fi issues recently, I am sure caused by the worse-than-Vista Lion OS on my new iMac, I bit the bullet and bought an Apple Dual Band Airport Extreme router, which I have to say has been a flawless performer and has helped a lot with a stable signal, less stuttering etc. Not missed a beat at all since I got it.

    4. Change your router channel or at least install iStumbler to see what your neighbours are using and use another channel. But I would just get the Airport Extreme!

    5. Never ever use anything that you need a dongle for for wi-fi. They are universally awful in terms of the speed they operate on and you will get a ton of stuttering.

    6. Can you get a better speed on your internet? I am still struggling to get fibre access here at present but even with about 4-5meg broadband speed I can pretty much stream anything and of course Netflix self adjusts to cope with variable speeds.

Hope this helps. Just email me if you need any more help.

  5. For soccer snacks I think the rule of thumb is some kind of fruit for half time (usually oranges like you stated), and then after something to drink with like a granola bar. Some moms go balls out for after the game and make little goody bags with fruits and granola bars and little candies. I’m not sure how intense the soccer moms are…some moms on teams try to out do each other with snacks.

Also I grew up in Washington State and we had oppossums… I never thought anything of it. Weird that they are supposed to be from Virginia or whatever.
