#37: With a Rebel Yell

The Bitterest PillWow, it seems like forever since I’ve done a new show, so there is a lot to talk about. We hear from Steve Webb (LifeSpring!), Craig Shoemaker (Polymorphic Podcast) and Brian Ibbott (Coverville). I discuss the difference between the “Disney Film Vault” where they store the master prints of the films and the “Disney Vault” where they are hiding the Jungle Book DVDs. I’ve seen “Raging Bull,” on the screen and in the can. We talk about how people in Farmsville, TX are making it as easy as possible for someone to find teenage cheerleaders to stalk.

Send suggestions for the “Best of The Bitterest Pill” compact disc to cd@danklass.com

I may have a hard time hearing about Billy Idol checking out my wife’s feet…

  1. Actually, Rachel informed ME while listening to the show that the “a” word was bad and thereafter Dan was referred to as “that guy that said the bad word.” So since Dan happened to be on the phone one day as I pulled up to Rachel’s school, and since he was embarrassed about his new reputation, of course I had no choice but to embarrass him further by putting him on the phone with her!

  2. how about DNA swabs on the back of the minivans? you know how a band will look for a drummer or whatever, & they post a flyer w/ those tabs at the bottom w/ their phone # so you can tear it off? (like drummers are too stupid to have a pen, or remember the #, but not SO stupid that they won’t have a hard time remembering what they did w/ a tiny scrap of torn off paper…) anyway, you could have something like this w/ your kids DNA on the back of your car for people to take. birthdate, & also, if they are old enough, Social Security Number.

  3. This is the first show I tuned in to and I have to say I’m bummed about a comment you made. While discussing your CD idea you mentioned giving it “to your wife…” for her to listen and to recruit podcast listeners. I am not a stereotypical PodCast listener. I am a 26 year old married female childless professional. While I understand I’m not the stereotypical listener, how about saying, “pass it off to your spouse!”

I’m still listening and you’re winning me back because I share the same name as your wife…but please be more conscious of your audience.

    Thanks!

  4. Actually, I think it was Craig Shoemaker who brought up at the OC Meetup that my church’s name was being changed to “Lifespring!” He probably heard me mention that fact on my podcast when I said that one of the reasons for changing the name to “Lifespring!” was the success of the podcast. I really can’t take all the credit.

But thanks, Dan, for mentioning my name about 57 times! How about some co-writing credit or something? Or maybe “The Bitterest Pill, starring Dan Klass, with Steve Webb”

Maybe not? Oh well, it was fun!

Oh, Dan, please leave the endless thank-yous to Lance! I understand your need to acknowledge those who blow smoke up yer skirt, but please don’t turn your podcast into an Oscar acceptance speech! If Lance jumped off a cliff, would that mean you’d have to do it too? You’re beautiful (and so is your podcast!) just the way you are!!! *smoochie*
