Well, the cat is apparently out of the bag. Michael Geoghegan (Reel Reviews: Films Worth Watching) and I are writing a podcasting book for Friends of ED (a division of Apress Publishing), called “Podcast Solutions,” as part of their “Solutions” series.
Okay, THAT is what’s got me so stressed.
The thing is, it’s going very well. We’ve handed in the first chapter, which was very well received. At the end of the month (in a couple days) we hand in 1-3. Hopefully their enthusiasm won’t wain and they won’t fire us.
In the meantime, we’ve also put together a web site to support the book. We’re interviewing podcasters on a variety of topics and are including the interviews as podcasts on the site. The first interview is with the Rock n’ Roll Geek himself, Mr. Michael Butler. It’s a great conversation between the two Micheals, you’ll have to check it out. The site is in it’s infancy, but do check back often!
Very cool! Congrats!
Congrats!
I will most certainly buy the book and support the podcasting movement in that small way, and its also a chance to repay you for hours of listening enjoyment.
The other Dan K
If I could ever figure out how to read, I’d buy it in a minute!
My wife, Just Julie, will be buying the book especially for the centerfold spread of Mr. Klass in a speedo she informed me today. I will be buying the book to learn how to do this Podcasting thing. Who knows, maybe someday I can have my very own Podcast where people call in via Skype and harrass me….oh, wait…That’s already a reality. Oh well, congratulations on the book deal and we hope to see you on Oprah very, very soon promoting the book–maybe you could try to do a classic Dick Van Dyke move and trip over the couch. If you come to my city to do a book signing, I will be the strange man in line with the “I Love Dan Klass” T-shirt and some big huge yellow sunglasses mumbling something about how I could have been a contender…hugs and kisses from Grandpa X…
Actually, the centerfold will be Dan in his double boxers, said photo of which was mailed anonymously to the publisher.
write the book, but make sure you sell it as an audio book too … congrats!
Oh, and you can put this in your precious podcasting book, Dan:
If you ever try to do an impression of Brian Ibbot, he will sue you. Oh yes. He will sue.
NOTE: Due to the restraining order, I was also not able to use his real last name.
