I’m hooked on Japanese funk band Zainichi Funk. The problem is, they’re Japanese. Sure I can find a couple songs on YouTube, but I can’t seem to buy any on the internet. Yes, in these days of the internet, I can’t seem to log into iTunes and buy Japanese funk. You know why, because I’m not in Japan. But, if I was in Japan, I could solve this whole problem by just going to a store and buying a CD. But I CAN’T. BECAUSE I’M NOT IN JAPAN! Which is why I want to buy it on the internet. But I can’t. Because I’m not in Japan…
Living in Los Angeles, sometime I feel like I’m on a TV show. The problem is, I don’t have a script, don’t know my lines and I think the stars think I’m creepy.
Many years ago, my wife got me hooked on frozen yogurt. At first I resisted, but she worn me down, and I’m still feeding the habit to this day. The problem is, our usual dealer (Penguins) shut down in our area. Now I am on a quest to find a new yogurt place where the yogurt doesn’t takes like it’s freezer burned. Uggg. I don’t want my fro-yo to take like ice. I want it to taste like (wait for it) yogurt, but a lot colder…

Dan –
I feel that as all men you struggle to understand your wife. I just wanted to share a quick Mother’s Day tutorial for all your male listeners from a mother’s point of view.
Dear Gentlemen:
1. When you ask your wives to tell you what they want for Mother’s Day and they say nothing – and you press them for an answer please do not get them everything BUT what they told you. If you did not want their input why did you ask?
2. Do not start a home project or clean-up that requires her assistance on Mother’s Day. We do not clean for enjoyment even though it seems like that is how we unwind in our “spare” time.
Thank you. We appreciate your cooperation.
My casual observation over the years has told me Americans are obsessed with,
a) Their teeth (hey, ours are a LOT better these days too)
b) Frozen Yoghurt
c) Cinammon
If we were all the same though…
Agree completely about the iTunes store. Don’t blame Apple though, it is those damned fools the publishers who want to negotiate deals per territory. These are the same idiots who made us pay so much for albums, cassettes and CD’s for years. Now see what has happened! I had the same crazy debate recently with Audible (part of Amazon) in the UK and US.
Now I like me a few Stephen King audiobooks, but there are way more titles in the US store than the UK store. For an electronic product. To buy from the US store, I ned to be in the USA. They let you sign up as a UK person to the US store to purchase, but the store only shows titles available in the UK. So from when you look in (not signed in) to when you look (after signing in), half the store disappears.
I have told them they are pushing me into the path of torrenting etc, which I don’t want to do. How many Stephen King fans in the UK do you think who would pay for titles like The Stand? Many thousands, and yet they just don’t get it at all. Maybe I should write to Stephen King and get him to kick their asses to Derry and back.
We saw what the agenda is from the case against Apple and the publishers with ebooks – they want to keep these territorial limits and charge the same as print books and damn the consumer. Idiots. OK, vented that!
Look in your inbox for Japanese funk. Ask no questions and I will tell no lies… 🙂
