Hello. Remember me? My name is Helga. I am the Eastern European dominatrix who performs the voice of Dan’s computer. How are you? Whatever.
As you are probably guessing by now, Dan has no new episode of The Bitterest Pill for you this week. Even though he promised he would do a new show once a week, he’s already letting you down. I hope you’re not surprised. If you are surprised, you are a bigger idiot than Dan is.
I am going to warn you, he is going to claim it’s because he has no voice. He will make some excuse about being sick this week, and coughing all the time, and having no voice. It’s all bull crap. He’s been yelling at those kids all week, and seemed to do that just fine…
Dan,
Huge fan here. Bought the subscription dealie without complaint or hesitation. And I realize that this year’s flu is a muvva. So those are my table stakes for these comments.
But if you’re going to run a paid gig, you have to be prepared for this kind of event. Keep an evergreen Pill in the can. Use it when you’re sick or in need of a vacation or just have misplaced your muse (say, this week would have been a great time for that). Once you use it, replace it with another one. That way, you won’t ever get complaining comments like this one again.
The vaudevillians had it right: The Show Must Go On.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Tim –
I hear ya, brother. In fact, that has been the plan all along. This cold caught me off guard (I’m usually last in line to get things) and I was unprepared. The goal is definitely to have a couple in the hopper, so these bumps in the road are not felt by the listeners.
I’m planning on recording tonight. Sure, it’s the last minute, but…
Look for a show by tomorrow morning.

Hi Dan,
Although I agree with Tim, I want to say don’t overexert yourself or you’ll get one of your trademark ongoing sicknesses. Start fresh.
I can commiserate as I have been sick all week and my work has piled up like a train wreck.
Good luck,
Michaela (new subscriber)
I also meant to say, I hadn’t visited the website for a while and I love the changes. I came by after the last podcast and it looks awesome.
