My last movie appearance was in the teen comedy “The Girl Next Door.” If you haven’t seen it, you must. It’s pretty great, with a superb soundtrack.
I only worked on it for a couple days. One day of sitting around the set, watching then unknown Autumn Reeser (The O.C.) read a book (Mark Twain maybe), and a day recording the voice-over from the beginning of the movie, hanging with a Playboy Playmate. Seriously. It’s great work if you can get it.
If you’re only watching to see yours truly, don’t worry – you’ll be in and out in under two minutes. Once you actually see me, I’m gone for good. And, yes, that is me in voice over at the very beginning. I can’t believe you had to ask…
The film stars Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer, Alpha Dog), Elisha Cuthbert (24, The House of Wax), Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Catch and Release) and Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine). Worth seeing, especially if you like scenes that take place in strip bars and adult film conventions.
Let me know if you can pinpoint Reeser in the movie. I think she was a glorified extra…
I remember wanting to see that movie after having a brief crush on Cuthbert. Looking good, m’man! Hey now, if you ever watch the Doors movie, I’m the one in that crowd there, in the concert scene. 😉
I watching it right now, Dan. This is a pretty funny movie, not cheesy like I expected. The ambient music and the subject makes it remind me of Risky Business, in a way. And the 80s Danny Darko-ish soundtrack rules; nothing like opening a film with Echo & the Bunnymen.
BTW did I say I had a “brief” crush on Elisha? By “brief” I meant that I would answer the door to her anytime…
Oh, and anyone hating MySpace can also find this movie freely streaming on Hulu.com. That’s the actual source of MySpace’s stream of it.
Nice post, thanks for the info
